The pupusas were absolutely amazing. I ate two and enjoyed every bite! The market has all kinds of wonderful staples to diverse your pantry. The owner told me a lovely story of teaching Spanish lessons during the pandemic. I will absolutely return for the pupusas on Saturday and to taste other menu items!
We had a nice dinner and had fun looking at all the items in the store, lots of imported candy, chips, bread and grocery items. We had the chicken nachos and the tres leche cake for dessert. Everything was very good and service was excellent. We weren’t real sure when we walked in because it look like a converted grocery store with restaurant seating on the front side and groceries in the back half. The service was quick and friendly. It’s not fancy but good food, fun shopping and friendly people (Lula and Javi).
The best Mexican food other island.
Never mind, it's located in a grocery store.
Once seated, you'll forget. Eat, shop. Go home, have a Flan, and relax.
I was fortunate to break down right outside of Amelia Island and had to stay the night. When I went to find food on the main street it was all very fancy almost Rodeo Drive feeling. I was only looking for quick and yummy. As I was driving on the back side of fancy street I find this little place and decided this was the place. I went in and was so pleased. Super clean, very nice people and because I was so hungry after being on the road for 8 hours, broke down, towed in, and finally finding a hotel my hunger was great. I ordered chips and queso and 3 different tacos. They were very fast and was in and out in about 15 minutes. This food was so good I wanted to tell everyone if your ever in that cute little place I know you will enjoy this little bit of yummy!!
The Adventure Continues. Purple Haze and SBT went for a day ride up the Coastline to Fernandina Beach. It was a hot day and it was time to grab a meal. Tacos are a favorite to the both of us. Saw the reviews and rating, so we put it to the test. Amazing. I got the Special for Wednesday and it was incredible, light and filling. Haze got the Loaded Nachos (chicken) and finished the whole thing. We even got chips and queso. Haze is very particular about his queso but couldn't stop talking about it. OMG, if I could I would give more than 5 stars. You do not want to miss this incredible Mexican food with these very nice people. Don’t hesitate but just go eat here!
We ordered to go yesterday. It was Wednesday so we had the enchiladas and the steak fajitas, both for the first time. Excellent. The rice is a bit bland for our taste but we put their fantastic green salsa on it and wow, what a difference. We usually order tacos so these dishes were a nice surprise. Also got the asada tacos, with avocado. What a bargain for 4 bucks each. We have been coming here since they were down the street in the little store and will keep coming back.
Visited La Sureña for the first time based on a local friend's referral and found a great neighborhood spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. On the day I stopped by for lunch I had the Chicken Flautas (Mex style) special. It looked great and tasted even better. The range of textures and flavors were distinct and amazing for a seemingly simple dish. I look forward to visiting soon and trying more menu items.
